Forgiven Forgivers – by The Rev. Donald S. Crisp - Broadcast Date-110807

The theme for “Forgiven Forgivers” comes out of Colossians 3: 12-14: even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do”.
Rev. Crisp, points out that, “because you have been forgiven you must learn to forgive”. He uses several stories and colourful illustrations to show that the ability to forgive is absolutely vital to your quality of life.
He uses the Chinese Proverb, “Whoever opts for revenge, should dig two graves,” to include one for them-self. He follows with another quote, that, “Not forgiving someone is like drinking rat poison and waiting for the rat to die.”
There is no future in un-forgiveness, therefore, forgiveness is the only road to freedom: [Good reason, why Jesus taught us to pray daily, “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,” (Matt 6:12).]
Here is Don’s closing prayer for the August 7th Broadcast:
“Father, we thank you that, as believers, we aren’t just forgiven, but we are forgiven that we might become practitioners of 'radical forgiveness'. O’ God, remind me, remind each of us, today, and every day, that we are to be, as believers and followers of Jesus Christ, we are to be ‘Forgiven Forgivers’.
Thank you for the Cross. Thank you for forgiving each of us. Thank you for my salvation that is found in none other than Jesus Christ. Amen".
